STEFAN JOHANSEN has been crowned the Cheque Centre PFA Scotland Player of the Year by his fellow-professionals.

The Norwegian midfielder was presented with the award at a gala dinner held at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow to cap a fine weekend which saw Celtic clinch their fourth successive championship title and his team-mate Jason Denayer named the Scottish game's Young Player of the Year.

"I am not surprised that Stefan was named Player of the Year because he has played very well in a lot of our games from the start of the season until the end," said Denayer.

Johansen has been linked with a summer move to the Bundesliga.

Denayer, set to return to Manchester City at the end of his current loan arrangement, believes he has the capability to perform at that level.

"I think he can play in Germany without a problem," said the defender.

But the Hoops missed out on a hat-trick when Ronny Deila lost out to John Hughes, who was voted Manager of the Year thanks to taking Inverness Caledonian Thistle to the William Hill Scottish Cup final and guiding them to their current position of third in the SPFL Premiership.

The award winners were:

SPFL Premiership Player of the Year: Stefan Johansen (Celtic).

Young Player of the Year: Jason Denayer (Celtic).

Manager of the Year: John Hughes (Inverness Caledonian Thistle).

Championship Player of the Year: Scott Allan (Hibernian).

League One Player of the Year: Declan McManus (Morton).

League Two Player of the Year: Bobby Linn (Arbroath).

Goal of the Season: Stevie Mallan (St Mirren against Dundee, December 2014).

Special Merit Award: Jordan Moore (Dundee United).
