Hoops winger Scott Sinclair has insisted that Celtic will go into Wednesday’s game against Barcelona without fear.

The Englishman, who has netted 10 times for the club already this season, fully expects a difficult evening as Celtic look for ways to contain the La Liga side. The Hoops were thumped 7-0 in their opening group game in the Nou Camp, but Sinclair isn't anticipating a similar evening this week.

However, he believes that Brendan Rodgers’s side need to tap into the experience of this season’s group campaign in the UEFA Champions League as they seek to engineer a result.

“There’s no apprehension,” said Sinclair. “We’ve learned a lot from that game. Even when we went away to Monchengladbach we showed the difference when we conceded.

“We lost the game at home but we went there and drew. I think we’ve learned a lot.

“It’s very different when you’re playing at home. Being in front of our own crowd will spur us on because those fans are unbelievable.

“Barcelona have been beaten here before so, hopefully, we’ll do it again. Because we played Kilmarnock on the Friday night we have an extra day’s recovery and that helps.”
