KIRK BROADFOOT has been unveiled as Lee McCulloch’s latest signing at Kilmarnock.

The former Rangers defender has hooked up again with his former Ibrox team-mate after penning a three-year contract at Rugby Park.

Since 2014 Broadfoot has been playing his football with English side Rotherham, and was part of the squad that was relegated from the Championship last season.

However, that wasn’t enough to put off McCulloch who continues to build a squad in his own image going into his first full season as a head coach.

Now 32, Broadfoot will come in to bolster the Kilmarnock defence and add some experience. During his time at Rangers, the former St Mirren man won three league titles, a Scottish Cup and a Uefa Cup runners-up medal over a five-year spell.

Announcing the singing last night, a statement from the Ayrshire club read: “Kilmarnock Football Club are thrilled to announce the signing of Kirk Broadfoot on a three-year contract (subject to international clearance).

Kilmarnock FC welcomes Kirk to the Club and wishes him every success for the upcoming 2017/18 season.”

Broadfoot is currently in La Manga with Kilmarnock as preparations for the new season continue at pace.

Earlier yesterday, McCulloch clinched another new recruit in the shape of ex-Partick Thistle defender Stephen O’Donnell.

The 25-year-old was most recently at Luton Town before leaving Kenilworth Road in the summer.

He said: “I’m very excited for the start of the season, especially with a big game to start with. I’ll give one hundred percent for the Club and will be looking to get forward at every opportunity. I want to play every week and play good, entertaining football.”
