Auchinleck Talbot hitman Graham Wilson may be forced into continuing his career away from the Juniors.

That’s the astonishing claim of his Ayrshire gaffer Tommy Sloan in the wake of Gee’s first-half dismissal during Saturday’s eventful 4-3 defeat in the Super Premier Division opener against Rob Roy.

Talbot went on to finish the game with just nine men following skipper Willie Lyle’s red card in the second half.

However, it was whistler Steven Graham’s decision to send off prolific scorer Wilson for a second yellow card offence after he netted his side’s opening two goals that clearly incensed Sloan into letting rip afterwards.

He said: "I rate Gee is one of the best goalscorers going the rounds as well as a terrific leader of the line, but he is proving such a handful for defenders that they are now resorting to conning referees to get him sent off.

“He is being targeted for shouts of `elbow` every time he jumps for a ball and today’s game was a case in point as the extent of him leading with his arm in jumping for a ball with Danny Boyle was for his outstretched hand to merely brush against the big fellow’s head yet he has went to ground as if poleaxed

“And it’s not a one- off occurrence as two other Rob Roy players picked up yellow cards today for outrageous simulation offences while their other centre-back Gary McMenamin has escaped punishment for going down clutching his face after an aerial joust with Mark Shankland which saw our player booked .

“It’s a nonsense for this to be happening at Junior level and we need strong Referees to do their bit for the game by hammering the perpetrators.”

The normally placid Sloan went on: "I now have to seriously consider whether to play Graham in certain games because he is definitely being singled out by other clubs and no doubt Referees.

“Nobody here at Auchinleck wants any special favours - Gee included- but a fair crack at the whip would be nice.”

The Guys Meadow clash between two of last season’s title challengers was almost called off by the match officials because of a perceived clash of strips - even though both clubs had followed protocol and contacted Mr Graham with their strip details earlier in the week.

No problem had been envisaged but somehow he saw things differently prior to kick off and a delay of fully 15 minutes duly ensued before the action got underway in earnest.

It became apparent, once the early sparring was over, that a territorial dominance was being enjoyed by the visitors and it was no surprise when they got whose noses in front after 18 minutes play as Wilson pounced on a through ball from Steven White to race clear and round advancing keeper Michael McKinven before slotting home for 1-0.

Their lead could have been doubled on several near thing occasions, but pressure told and that man Wilson succeeded in making the scoreline read 2-0 when he adroitly controlled a pass on his thigh and wheeled inside the area to clip as hot beyond the Rabs keeper and into the net via an upright.

McKinven superbly blocked a scoring Shankland shot following a sublime Talbot passing move but in 37 minutes came the hammer blow of Wilson getting his marching orders and the extra man played a part in Rob Roy were then seen as more of an attacking force.

Rabs gaffer Stewart Maxwell introduced Stefan Law in place of defender Scott Walker during the interval but the ball playing midfielder hadn’t even touched the ball before Talbot were 3-0 to the good as a Shankland flick found Jamie Glasgow running into space and he controlled the ball to slip a low shot under McKinven for 3-0.

The close control and skills of Rabs winger Lee Gallagher had caught the eye for the home team in the first half and he was instrumental in setting up the goal to spark his side’s comeback with a run and cross to the far post that Gavin Mackie acrobatically headed home.

Auchinleck looked capable of remaining in control at 3-1 ahead but their defensive organisation was duly undone by an aberration on the part of seasoned full back Lyle whose sliding tackle into the back of home team striker Gary Carroll was both unnecessary and befitting of the red card brandished by whistler Graham.

Their two man advantage saw Rob Roy camp inside Auchinleck’s half and another breakthrough arrived as the lively Gallagher skipped inside opponent Gordon Pope to fire a low left foot shot from around 18 yards that found the net just inside the post to reduce his team’s deficit to one goal.

With their tails up Rob Roy poured forward and a despairing Pope tackle brought down substitute Joe Slattery to earn a penalty kick however Talbot keeper Leishman magnificently kept out Kevin Watt’s spot kick to deny an equaliser that was only delayed until the resulting corner kick , taken by Gallagher , was headed home by stopper Danny Boyle to the sheer delight of the former Talbot stopper .

His 88th-minute leveller appeared to indicate a share of the spoils however a last gasp Rob Roy attack saw a left wing cross headed clear but only to to Gallagher just outside the box and he despatched a wonderfully controlled volley high past Leishman to send Kirkintilloch supporters dancing on the terracing steps and clinch a memorable 4-3 triumph.

Rabs boss Stewart Maxwell said later ,” Auchinleck had a bit more than us in the middle of the park first half and were always getting to the second balls but we changed things by bringing on Stefan Law and his energy and willingness to get on the ball made all the difference ..

“Yes it’s helped that Talbot have gone down to ten men but both sending offs were fully justified and I fail to understand Tucker’s defence of the lad Wilson as his foul on big Danny was his fifth of the game and he should have known better having already being booked and to say we went out to deliberately get him sent off is nonsense.

“Gallagher’s goal was a thing of beauty. Remember he scored two goals and set up our other two was just terrific and I think he’s going to be a star turn for us.”
