Celtic striker Moussa Dembele has called upon his Hoops team-mates to show a bit of spirit when they enter into the Europa League in February.

Dembele has accepted that Celtic did not produce the quality that he believes the Parkhead side are capable of, but has maintained that improvements can and will be made.

“The positive thing is we have Europa League and that is the thing to take away from us,” he told the official Celtic website. “It wasn’t the best game for us but we have qualified and we have to be ready for it.

“We just had a lack of quality. We just didn’t play our football and that’s what has cost us. We have a lot to look forward to and we have a few months to prepare for that and be ready for it.

“We just need character,” he said. “When you play against a high-level opponent, you really need to make sure you want the ball every time and create chances, and when you do that, you have to score from them. That’s what we have to learn from it but I'm sure we have the quality for that.
