RANGERS haven’t just signed a quality goalkeeper in Allan McGregor, they have signed a winner. It is a great bit of business to bring him on board for next season.
I played with Greegsy in some successful sides and know what he can bring to a dressing room and if something needs said, he will say it. He will be open and honest and he is the kind of character you want in the trenches with you.
Even at training, he will drive the standards and he will dig people out if that is what is needed.

We had five, six, seven players like that. You train as you play and that was fundamental to the success that we had.
So Greegsy will certainly help drive that next season and Rangers are getting a keeper that is still very capable and that has a couple of years left in him yet.
I know he is delighted to be back at Rangers and if we can get a couple more players of a similar profile in soon then it will be a really encouraging start to the transfer window.
He is still a very good player and he was in fantastic form for Hull City in the Championship last season.
But, having been at Rangers for many years, he knows what it is all about and he will understand the challenge at Ibrox next season. He has that mentality I have spoken about.
You need players like Greegsy in your team and characters like him in your squad and I am sure the supporters are really pleased to see him back at the club.
