ST MIRREN have agreed to let Sunderland speak to Jack Ross about becoming their new manager.
News broke earlier today that Ross was poised to take over at the Black Cats, only for Saints chairman Gordon Scott to pour cold water on the claims by saying the club had not been approached.
However, the Paisley outfit could now be on the verge of losing the man who has just guided them to the Championship title after revealing they have granted the League One giants permission to contact their prized manager.
A statement read: "St Mirren Football Club can confirm we received an approach from Sunderland AFC this afternoon for permission to speak to our manager Jack Ross.
"After agreeing to our terms we have reluctantly given them permission to speak to Jack about their vacant managers position."
