IT is both brilliant and bruising to be a Rangers player at any time.

The love you get from the fans is incredible, but there is a flipside to that because when things go bad it's not an easy place to work.

The club is massive. The expectations are huge. and if the supporters are unhappy then there is no hiding from it.

Alfredo Morelos took a bit of stick after Thursday and, yes, he did miss a few chances.

Hey, he was hardly the only one.

But I would not be overly worried about any striker not being at their sharpest at this early stage.

It would be far more concerning had he not had any chances at all.

Strikers blow hot and cold, but as long as they are in the box and trying to get on the end of things then the goals will come.

Better that than them hardly getting a touch.

Morelos is young and raw. He is far from the finished article.

Morelos is also slimmer, which is a positive, and we all know the team was not fit enough last season.

His problem is that Rangers is a hard and unforgiving school in which to learn your trade.

He will come good. He showed enough last season to suggest there is a really good player in there.
