ALLAN MCGREGOR: A relatively quiet night for the Rangers goalkeeper all things considered. Could do nothing for the Ufa goal, but came up with a wonder save when required late on as he has done so often in his career, tipping away Igboun’s header acrobatically…7

JAMES TAVERNIER: The villain from the weekend’s match against Motherwell defended well in a more orthodox right-back role. Kept a cool head in possession and was assured in one-on-one situations, and more importantly, wasn’t caught out at set-pieces…6

CONNOR GOLDSON: A better showing from the defender than on Sunday at Fir Park, but still looked uncomfortable with balls in behind. When asked to defend onslaught of crosses in the second half though he stood up to the task manfully…6

NIKOLA KATIC: In a similar vein to his defensive partner, was much more comfortable dealing with the aerial threat of Ufa than when they got the ball in behind or played through the centre of the Rangers backline on the deck. But solid enough…6

JON FLANAGAN: A night to forget for the former Liverpool man. Was shaky from the off and was targeted as he continually failed to track the runs of Dmitri Sysuyev in behind him, which ultimately led to the Ufa man drawing his side level. Was then sent off to reduce Rangers to nine men, although he may feel hard done by with his second caution…4

RYAN JACK: Worked tirelessly for the cause and screened his back four well without the presence of Coulibaly beside him. Got up to support the sporadic Rangers attacks as much as he could once they went down to nine men, continuing his fine start to the season…7

OVIE EJARIA: Looks to be finding his feet after an indifferent start at the Ibrox club, and followed up his goal at Motherwell with an absolute rocket of a strike into the top corner to give Rangers a crucial lead on the night. Sacrificed his attacking instincts to help out with an admirable defensive shift in the second half too…7

SCOTT ARFIELD: Looked a little off the pace and struggled to really make an impact on the game. Full of effort, but didn’t get a hold of the midfield and was replaced by Halliday after Flanagan had been dismissed…5

DANIEL CANDEIAS: A good outlet for Rangers in the first half and provided a real threat from the right, but was sacrificed at the interval for the presence of Kyle Lafferty up top with his side a man light…5

RYAN KENT: Was a threat in the opening period and showed incredible fitness levels to carry the fight to Ufa in the second half too, breaking away at pace on several occasions and taking his team up the field to provide some crucial respite. Still lacking composure once he gets into promising areas, but can’t be faulted for endeavour…7

ALFREDO MORELOS: Oh dear. The Colombian let his side down hugely with one of the cheapest dismissals you will ever see. Had got away with kicking the ball away early in the match, but frustration once again got the better of him and he wasn’t so lucky second time around. Compounded his foolishness by shouting at the referee and immediately gained a second caution to leave his teammates facing a long night. He owes each of them a pint…3

SUBSTITUTES

KYLE LAFFERTY: On at the break to try and provide a focal point up front for the 10 men of Rangers, but was forced out to the right to help Tavernier once they went down to nine. Used his experience, as they say, in order to buy one or two free-kicks and tried to put himself about in what was a thankless task…6

ANDY HALLIDAY: Came on for Arfield in the second half when Rangers went two men down and fought valiantly for the cause on the left…5
