Scotland Under-21 goalkeeper Robby McCrorie is not ready to give up on his dreams of reaching next year's Euros.

The Rangers stopper played a key role as Scot Gemmill's youngsters toppled Holland for the second time in a year as they claimed another impressive 2-1 triumph in Doetinchem on Tuesday night.

The victory leaves the Scots tied in second with Ukraine with two games left to play – the first in Kiev on October 12 before a clash with England at Tynecastle four days later.

But even if Gemmill's boys were to win both, Scotland's place at the 2019 European Championship finals in Italy and San Marino will still be far from guaranteed.

As things stand, the Scots' record is the eighth best of the teams currently sitting in the runners-up slots with only the top four qualifying to a play-off.

However, results elsewhere could yet see them thrown into the mix and McCrorie is staying positive.

Speaking after Everton striker Fraser Hornby's double sealed another stunning result, he told the Scottish Football Association website: "It's amazing for the boys to beat Holland over here.

"There are not a lot of teams who can come here and get a result, never mind a win. To a man everybody should be proud of themselves.

"We know that in any game you can get chances and we've got the players at the top of the pitch who can create opportunities for us.

"And to be fair, when they did pose questions of us, we popped up with the answers. The whole back four and the boys from the midfield and up top defended well as a team.

"It sets up a big game now. I've not looked at the table but I think we're in a not-bad position.

"You can't underestimate anyone though. Going away to Ukraine is a very hard game so we will just prepare right and when that game comes in three weeks, we'll make sure we're ready for it."
