ALLAN MCGREGOR Saw an early effort from Wotherspoon rise over his bar and was kept alert without being overly worked for the rest of the half. Denied a clean sheet as Alston converted from the spot. 7

JAMES TAVERNIER Captain gave his side the lead with a terrific free-kick from the edge of the area and then cracked the bar with another effort 20 minutes later. Neat pass opened up St Johnstone as Morelos made it 2-0. Replaced early in the second half with the game won. 8

CONNOR GOLDSON Wasn’t as assured on the ball as usual and was fortunate to get away with a mistake shortly after the break. Not at his best but played his part in a comfortable victory. 6

NIKOLA KATIC Restored to the heart of the Gers defence after being rested against Villarreal and took over from Joe Worrall. Was relatively untroubled and pulled a low shot wide from distance. 6

JON FLANAGAN Missed out against Villarreal due to suspension but was back in the starting line-up as he replaced Borna Barisic at left-back. Made one superb block in the second half and was hardly tested thereafter on a comfortable afternoon. 7

ROSS MCCRORIE Took over from Andy Halliday in the middle of the park as he was given a chance to show what he can do. Was assured in possession and covered a lot of ground to help Rangers control the game. Filled in for Tavernier at right-back for the final half an hour. 7

LASSANA COULIBALY Had a bit more of a licence to get forward as McCrorie sat in as the deepest of the Rangers midfield. Strolled the game with another impressive showing before being replaced. 7

SCOTT ARFIELD One of the Gers goal heroes in midweek and showed some neat touches in the first half as he looked to unlock the St Johnstone defence. Clinched the win with a clinical strike seven minutes into the second half and was excellent thereafter. 8

DANIEL CANDEIAS Spent time on both flanks and was always looking to get involved as Rangers saw plenty of the ball. Made it 5-1 with a powerful effort from inside the area to cap off an excellent showing. 8

RYAN KENT Opened his Rangers account here last weekend and always looked dangerous as he switched between the left and right. Had the beating of Foster as he got forward with ease and can be pleased with his efforts. 8

ALFREDO MORELOS Capped a fine first half performance with a terrific strike as he turned Shaughnessy and beat Clark with a powerful effort. Could have added to his tally but had a hand in Arfield’s goal and was dangerous throughout. 8

Substitutes:

OVIE EJARIA (for Tavernier) Entrance was delayed after forgetting his shinpads but will be pleased to get back on the park after an injury and played well during a second half cameo. 5

GRAHAM DORRANS (for Coulibaly) The match minutes are the important factor for the midfielder right now but his performance was encouraging as well. 5

KYLE LAFFERTY (for Kent) Made an instant impact as he stepped off the bench and made it 4-1 seconds later. 5
