LEWIS Morgan has denied that Celtic have struggled this season due to a split in the dressing room and vowed to play his part in helping the Parkhead club get back to winning ways.

Kilmarnock striker Kris Boyd claimed on BBC Radio Scotland on Monday the reason the Glasgow club has struggled is because there are divisions in the squad.

However, Morgan, who joined the double treble winners for Ladbrokes Championship champions St Mirren in the summer, has insisted the Celtic players are together.

“That’s definitely not true,” he said.“That’s someone outwith the club who wouldn’t have any knowledge of what’s going on inside the building.

“We’ve got a really close-knit team. You can only look at what we’ve achieved over the last couple of years.

“That doesn’t come without a close team. All the boys are close and together. So that’s something I can rule out.”

“It is a really close-knit dressing room and everyone gets on with each other. That’s nonsense.”

Morgan added: “I have been here for a few months now so I have settled in. But the changing room is that way that everyone is welcoming and everyone talks to each other.

“There are no egos or anything like that. It was a really easy changing room to walk into.”

Morgan returned from injury when he came on in the second-half of the 2-1 defeat to Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Sunday.

The 21-year-old winger revealed the players have spoken about their disappointing run of results and are determined to get back to winning ways quickly.

“We have always got expectations of ourselves,” he said. “The words that were said were behind closed doors.

“We know we are good players and we need to tell ourselves that and get back to where we have been at and that is what we are trying to do.

“For whatever reason, it has maybe not clicked at the moment. But we are working hard.

“We are all united and trying to pull in the one direction. I am sure with the coaching staff we have got and the players we have got we will get it right.

“I’m happy to be involved now and hopefully everything is behind me and I’m raring to go.

“When you have a spell on the sidelines any footballer will tell you it gives you more hunger to be back involved.

“I’m no different watching the boys – I want to play.”
