I KNOW a lot of people were surprised to see Barry Ferguson return to management by going into the Lowland League with Kelty Hearts.

But I think he just wanted to get back on the training pitch again and make an impact as a coach and a boss. He will have missed that responsibility, in a football sense, and it was good to see him get back into the game.

He has so much to contribute to Scottish football with his knowledge and his experience and I wish him all the best at Kelty now that he is back in the dugout.

Barry had another couple of things in the pipeline but he has chosen to go in at Kelty and he must have been impressed with the club and with the people there. I am sure he will get backing from the chairman.

Everyone that I have spoken to says that it is a club that is going in the right direction and you have to take all of those things into consideration when you go to look for a job. Hopefully the moves works out well for him.
