BARRIE MCKAY reckons his game has come on leaps and bounds since he left Rangers and made the move south of the border.

The winger was a key part of the Light Blues side that lifted the Championship title under Mark Warburton and he was then reunited with the Englishman following his appointment as Nottingham Forest boss.

After a difficult spell under Aitor Karanka at the City Ground, McKay is now a regular for Swansea as they bid to clinch a return to the Premier League this term.

The 23-year-old has quickly established himself under the guidance of Graham Potter and Billy Reid and is pleased with the progress he is making on a personal level at City.

McKay told SportTimes: “When you come in and see a few familiar faces, it helps you out a lot and helps you settle quicker.

“The gaffer and Billy have been spot on with me and have helped me a lot since I have come in. I have developed my game even further.

“It is a good league and there are a lot of really good players. There are a lot of games and it questions you mentally and physically. I enjoy that.

“The times I had at Rangers tested my mentality as well and I think that stood me in good stead to come here.

“If you look at the height of me, there is always going to be someone bigger than me, whether that is in Scotland or in England.

“I think down here they are all really big boys, they are all quick and they are all strong. They are clever as well so the league challenges you in different ways.

“I think since I have left Rangers I have become a much better player and I am developing every day. I am still relatively young.

“I am not a kid anymore but I have still got a lot to learn in the game and if I can continue to do that then that would be great."
