HEARTS

Zdenek Zlamal

The Czech keeper had an eventful afternoon. He denied Scott Sinclair, James Forrest and Kieran Tierney brilliantly with one-handed saves. But he went the wrong way at the Sinclair penalty in the second-half, fumbled a deflected Ryan Christie shot into his own net before the Forrest goal and could have done better with the Christie strike for the third. 5

Michael Smith

The right back had his work cut out nullifying the threat posed by Tierney, Callum McGregor and, after Eboue Kouassi had gone off, Sinclair down his flank. He dealt with the challenge admirably. Made a well-timed tackle on Odsonne Edouard on the hour mark. 6

Jimmy Dunne

The Irish centre half was one of Hearts better performers. Cleared an Edouard shot off his line at 3-0. Lucky, though, not to concede a late penalty. 7

Clevid Dikamona

The Congolese centre half was quickly on to Edouard after the French striker had been played through by Tom Rogic in the 17th minute. Dealt with the threat posed by Edouard well throughout. 6

Peter Haring

Craig Levein took a chance on the Austrian midfielder, who had missed the wins over Aberdeen and Dundee with a hernia problem, and it was easy to see why. The 25-year-old was his usual industrious self in the centre of the park despite not being fully fit. Had a goal-bound shot deflected wide for a corner. 6

Oliver Bozanic

The Australian midfielder made little impression on the match until the 53rd minute when he conceded a penalty with a needless challenge on Celtic substitute Christie. Had a shot saved by Scott Bain before being replaced. 4

Olly Lee

The English midfielder came back into the side. Tested Bain with a long-range volley in the 35th minute. Replaced by Sean Clare with 15 minutes remaining. 4

Arnaud Djoum

The Cameroonian midfielder was poor. Was spoken to by referee Willie Collum early on after a rash challenge on Tom Rogic. Booked for a professional foul on Rogic late on. 3

Demetri Mitchell

The Manchester United loanee was charged with marking the on-form Forrest. Did well to dispossess the winger in his own box in the first-half. Worked hard throughout the 90 minutes. 5

Steven Naismith

The Scotland striker dropped to the turf injured in the fifth minute and required attention from the Hearts physio. He hobbled around for another three minutes before admitting defeat and leaving the field. 2

Steven MacLean

Lucky to stay on after a Vinny Jones moment. He was harshly booked by Collum in the very first minute for a challenge on Mikael Lustig. But the striker got away with grabbing Kouassi’s private parts at a corner shortly before his opponent was taken off. Had a goal chalked off for offside shortly before half-time. 4

Substitutes

Danny Amakwaa

Came on for the injured Naismith in the eighth minute. Playing less than 10 minutes of competitive football this season was hardly ideal preparation for such a big game. Made little impact. 3

Callumn Morrison

Failed to charge down the ball for the Christie goal. 1

Sean Clare

Hardly involved. 1
