EROS GREZDA is confident he and Rangers can build on the win over St Mirren on Saturday as attentions turn to the Europa League clash with Spartak Moscow.

Steven Gerrard’s side got back on track in the Premiership as late goals from Daniel Candeias and Alfredo Morelos were enough to see off the Saints.

Grezda was handed his first start of the campaign against the Buddies as he looks to make an impact following his switch from Osijek this summer.

It was to prove a frustrating afternoon on a personal level for the Albanian but there was plenty to cheer for Gerrard and his squad as they warmed up for the trip to Russia with a crucial top flight win.

“I really enjoyed playing with the team but it was a bit hard because of the conditions, heavy rain and strong wind,” Grezda told RangersTV.

“The most important thing is that at the end we took the three points and got the win.

“We showed it, we played very well in the first-half and we never gave up thoughts of winning.

“It was a very strong second-half too because the opening was against a hard block so we really had to work hard to find some spaces between them. We found them and from that came the goal from Danny and then it was easy for us.

“I think we have done really well today especially after a tough first-half when the weather was against us. In the second-half we played good football.

“Football here is a little bit different because in Croatia you can play more tactically whereas here is more strong football and speed.

“Scottish football is good for me because I am an aggressive player, a fast player and so I am happy here.

“The game against Spartak Moscow will be quite different from [Saturday]; it is going to be tough. They have quality and they showed that in the first game. We go there for a win and we will see what we get.”
