Celtic are off to Livingston on Sunday afternoon and I would expect that Brendan Rodgers will adapt the side to meet the demands of the artificial surface.

It is not the fault of the Livington players that they are on the artificial turf but I do think that teams can really struggle when they are playing on it.

Of course, it depends on the quality and some surfaces may be better than others but I do think that it is difficult to go and play your usual game on it. Celtic will need to swap personnel around as they are a few guys there who can’t play on plastic which can be frustrating if you are wanting players to get a run of games.

In Holland I read recently that some of the top clubs are subsidising the smaller community clubs to get rid of their astrotruf which I found interesting.

But certainly, this season we have already seen Celtic struggle on Kilmarnock’s pitch so it will be a test for them to go and get a result against a Livingston side who have been excellent so far this term.
