ANDREW DALLAS reckons the chance to see striker Alfredo Morelos at close hand will help him make his big breakthrough in the Ibrox attack.

The forward has started the season in blistering scoring form and tops the charts for the Under-20 side with 14 goals in 13 outings.

Dallas has trained with Steven Gerrard’s side on several occasions this term as he looks to earn a spot in the Light Blues squad in the coming weeks and months.

And he is pleased to be working in close quarters with Morelos as the Colombian continues to go from strength to strength with Rangers.

Dallas told SportTimes: “We go to all the home games and I watch all the away games so I watch him closely.

“Even getting to train alongside him, I watch him and see how he goes about his business. I base my game around aggression, power and pace and getting off the last line of the defenders, so I am taking notes from Alfredo.

“He is doing really well and banging in the goals as well. Getting round there and seeing him up close is really benefitting me.

“He is a big character in the squad obviously but it is more about watching him from a distance and picking up details of how he trains and plays.

“All the boys are looking to make the breakthrough and I am desperate to get that chance.

“Sometimes it can be harder for a young forward to get into the first team but it is about doing the right things in the Reserve games and hopefully you catch the manager’s eye and you get your shot.”
