IT is almost nine years since Rangers last won at Parkhead and that is a record that Steven Gerrard will be determined to end on Sunday afternoon.

Back in October 2010, a Glenn Loovens own goal and two strikes from Kenny Miller won it for us. While Rangers didn’t play there for a couple of years, our recent record across the city isn’t good enough.

That is a hard stat for the Rangers fans to stomach and they have only had the draws under Graeme Murty in the last couple of years.

Beating Celtic in December was important psychologically and going to Parkhead and winning would be another important step for the players.

You have to believe you can win at places like that if you want to challenge for the Premiership title.

If Rangers could win, it probably won’t be enough to get them back into it.

But all they can do is pick up their points and try and put as much pressure on Celtic as they can.

Even if they don’t win the league, they need to end that record quickly.
