RANGERS know full well how important the home crowd can be in the Old Firm game. At Ibrox in December, the players harnessed the power of the crowd and they were a twelfth man against Celtic.

Steven Gerrard’s side also understand how difficult it is going away to Parkhead, especially when you only have 800 fans.

It won’t be new for them on Sunday, so they shouldn’t be fazed by it.

When I played, we had thousands and thousands of supporters behind us and they could spur you on. Rangers won’t have that this weekend, though.

Celtic will hope their fans can have the same impact the Ibrox crowd did and spur them on, so Rangers need to start well and silence them, to get them frustrated and turn on Neil Lennon’s side.

If Rangers could get the first goal, that would give them something to hold on to and you hope that the Celtic players and the Celtic fans start to get a bit nervous as the game goes.

There won’t be many Gers supporters there, but hopefully you hear them.
