MARVIN ANDREWS is confident Rangers will learn from the errors of their ways this season and ensure they don’t make the same mistakes again next term.

Steven Gerrard’s side are set to end the campaign with no silverware to show for their efforts after a frustrating few months in the Premiership.

Rangers fired themselves into contention for the title with victory over Celtic in December but a poor run of form saw them quickly fall off the pace.

And when Aberdeen knocked the Light Blues out of the Scottish Cup at Ibrox, the writing was on the wall for their ambitions of success in Gerrard’s first campaign as manager.

It will go down as a case of what might have been at Ibrox but former Gers stopper Andrews reckons it will stand Gerrard’s side in good stead going forward.

He said: “The players and the managers will look back at this season as a season of missed opportunity.

“Rangers had the opportunity to win something this season but it didn’t quite happen unfortunately. When you look at it before the winter break, they were neck and neck with Celtic and then they came back after that break a completely different team.

“There were ups and downs, they weren’t as consistent as they would have liked to have been.

“When they look back, they will see that they could have done better and there were opportunities there for them.

“I am sure next season they will learn from that and they can only become better and stronger for it.

“They will be better next season and hopefully the new players that will come in will help them become more consistent and more successful.”
