Rangers winger Ryan Kent admits silverware chances will sway his summer decision over his future

The winger has enjoyed a terrific campaign at Rangers after moving north of the border on loan from Liverpool last summer.

His fine form for Steven Gerrard’s side has been recognised by his peers after he was named amongst the nominations for the PFA Scotland Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year prizes.

Boss Gerrard is keen to retain Kent’s services for his second season at Ibrox as he looks to further strengthen his squad for a crack at the Premiership title and both domestic cups next term.

Kent has been touted for a multi-million pound move away from Anfield to a series of clubs in England but he will prioritise a club with lofty ambitions going forward.

Kent said: “If I was to get an opportunity to go elsewhere in the summer or not, I would want a club with ambition, a club that is driven on getting silverware and the fans are as well.

“I don’t want to join a team that is just taking part, that is not going to get the best out of me. Ultimately in football, the best players are winners and have that winning mentality and I feel I have that. Rangers are pushing for silverware.

“The chances I have been given by Steven Gerrard, I am really grateful for them and that respect can only be shown back.

“I have been working really hard on the training pitch, on my days off I have been going into the gym to make that extra bit of difference. I think that side of the game has definitely improved this season.

“It (his future) is something that is being discussed right now and something that I would consider.

“I am considering many things after this season.”
