IT was great to be down at Trump Turnberry this week and support the Kris Boyd Charity Golf Day.

It is always nice to be involved in days like that and I was pleased Boydy got a great turnout for a really worthy cause.

Everyone that was there had a terrific day and it was great to see the likes of Graeme Souness, Ally McCoist and Archie Knox there.

Loads of people came out to have a good day at the golf and enjoy each other’s company, but more importantly to support Kris and the work that his charity does so well.

It tells you a lot about how highly he is thought of and how dedicated he is to the charity that so many people were willing to turn up and take part on Monday.

It was a fantastic day and hopefully it will have the kind of impact that Boydy wants and it helps get the messages of his charity out there.

He works so hard with the charity. I have known him and his family for years and the work that he is doing is as testament to the person and the character that he is.

Well done to him and hopefully he is able to keep it going for a long time to raise awareness and money to help people with their mental health.

It is a cause that is very close to his heart following the death of his brother Scott and if he can help any person in any way then he will be delighted and should be proud.

The way he handled that situation was amazing and he has put a focus on trying to raise awareness of mental health and encouraging people to speak up.

It is a credit to him and hopefully it continues to grow and grow and more people become aware and are not scared to come forward.
