JERMAIN Defoe is the striker in form, the one that has scored the goals for Rangers in recent weeks and, for me, he gets the nod to start against Celtic.

I think it has got to be him. If you are only going with one striker, which Rangers will, then he starts ahead of Alfredo Morelos.

Morelos returned from his four-game suspension against Hibernian last weekend but Defoe had already scored the match-winning goal before he came on for the closing stages at Ibrox.

He has lost his place due to that ban and Defoe has made the most of his chance to get a run of games. He has scored a couple of goals and his overall performances have been good recently.

Morelos hasn’t had a chance to really get back up to speed after missing a few games and he has only played 20 minutes of first team football since being sent off at Parkhead.

So it would be a big surprise for me if Steven goes with him ahead of Jermain through the middle on Sunday.
