HUNDREDS of Celtic fans turned out at the funeral for Stevie Chalmers this week and it was great to see him get such a wonderful send-off.
Every tribute that has been paid to Stevie has been spot-on. He was a terrific player and a real gentleman and my thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time.
It has been a really tough few weeks for Celtic and for Scottish football to lose Billy McNeill and then Stevie. Another two great players, two legends, from my era are gone.
Both will be missed, but they will be remembered by those that played with them and those that played against them.
He scored the most important goal in the history of Celtic but there were figures from across the game at his funeral and that speaks volumes for Stevie as a player and a person.
