CELTIC are the first Scottish club to be named as one of the most prominent in Europe in a new report by global financial firm KPMG.

The European Elite 2019: Football Clubs' Valuation study has named Celtic as the 30th most prominent club in Europe, ahead of the likes of Villareal and Galatasaray.

It is the first time a Scottish club has been named in the annual report with clubs from England, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Portugal and the Netherlands usually dominating the top 32.

In order to be considered for the shortlist, a club had to rank inside the top 50 European clubs by total operating revenue, be included within the top 50 UEFA teams based on the club's European coefficient over the last five seasons and feature within the top 30 European sides by number of followers on social media.
