RANGERS have confirmed their first three friendly fixtures this summer as Steven Gerrard prepares for his second crack at the Premiership title.

The Light Blues return to action at the Hummel Training Centre in a fortnight before heading to Portugal for a pre-season camp.

Oxford United will visit Ibrox on Sunday, July 7 and U's boss Karl Robinson said: “What a fantastic way to start pre-season. Rangers are a massive club and Steven is doing an unbelievable job up there so when the opportunity came to go and test ourselves against such opposition we jumped at the chance.

"I would imagine it’s a game that will excite the Oxford fans and I am sure it will be a great occasion as well as a decent game.”

Rangers play the first leg of their Europa League qualifier on July 11 and French giants Marseille will then head to Glasgow for a friendly on July 14.

The final fixture that has been lined-up so far will see former Celtic boss Tony Mowbray return to Ibrox on Sunday, July 21 when his Blackburn Rovers side face the Gers.
