Celtic have been granted permission to speak to young player of the year David Turnbull after Motherwell accepted a bid of £3 million plus add-ons from the champions. A statement from Motherwell read: "[Turnbull] has been given permission to speak to [Celtic]. We have rejected several seven-figure offers for David in recent weeks, with clubs the length and breadth of the UK speaking to us about him. It is clear from that the fee we stand to receive fully maximises his potential value."

Middleton set for Doncaster loan

Rangers winger Glenn Middleton is on his way to England's League One after Rangers came to an agreement with Doncaster Rovers for the winger to join the club on a one-year loan, according to the Daily Record. Middleton spent the first half of the 2018/19 season in the first team at Ibrox before returning to the development squad for the remainder of the campaign.

Celtic showing 'serious' interest in Jullien

Toulouse defender Christopher Jullien is the subject of 'serious' interest from Celtic, according to reports in the Daily Record. The 26-year-old centre-back is rated around the £10 million mark by the French club, with Celtic valuing the player at around £8 million. Clubs in England and Germany are also reportedly interested in securing the defender's services.

The SNP has hit out at "sexist tweets" in the wake of the Scottish women's football team's World Cup clash with England as MPs debate how to put an end to discrimination in sport. SNP sports spokeswoman Hannah Bardell said: "I responded to [a sexist tweet], calling it out on Twitter, and I got a response from someone else, another unfortunate man who appears to be a football fan saying 'people like this exist because women's football is absolutely dog s***e'."

The Scottish Sun are reporting that Heckingbottom is one of the names on the English Championship club's shortlist as they search for Adkins' successor.

Rangers midfielder Ross McCrorie has revealed that the upcoming season will be "a big one" and has set himself a target of becoming a first-team regular in Steven Gerrard's team. The Ayrshire club and Celtic are two of the first in the UK to provide safe standing sections for their fans, with Kilmarnock providing the standing areas for under-16s in particular.
