GARY MCALLISTER reckons Sheyi Ojo’s experience in England will help him settle at Rangers.

The winger completed a season-long loan deal from Liverpool this week and has joined Steven Gerrard’s side at their pre-season training camp in Portugal.

Ojo is the latest Anfield kid to make the move to Ibrox and he follows in the footsteps of Ryan Kent and Ovie Ejaria.

His switch across the border is the fifth time he has headed out on loan since he joined Liverpool from MK Dons four years ago.

Ojo has had spells with Wigan, Wolverhampton and Fulham in England and spent last season at Reims. That move didn’t work out for the 22-year-old but McAllister is confident Rangers can get the best out of him in the coming months.

He said: “I think he ticks a lot of boxes in modern day football.

“He is technically outstanding, he is left side and he has got good power and pace as well. He has got a bit of experience now, Sheyi, he has been out on loan at some good clubs and he has played in some tough leagues as well.

“We are bringing in a player with plenty of experience and he has worked under the expectation levels at Liverpool.

“They are very similar to here so he won’t be caught out with the fans demanding.

“He has worked with Michael Beale, he knows the gaffer, he knows Jordan (Milsom), he knows Tommy (Culshaw). We crossed paths in the first couple of weeks when I went back to Liverpool under Brendan (Rodgers) and then he went out on loan.

“He has got some familiar faces here as well and he knows a few of the players so he has spoken to them. He has spoken to Ovie and Kenty and that is why he signed, they gave the club a big up so that he would come here.”
