STEWART ROBERTSON is confident Rangers are moving in the right direction on and off the park ahead of the new campaign.

The Light Blues board have sanctioned significant upgrades to Ibrox and the Hummel Training Centre as well as backing boss Steven Gerrard in the transfer market.

And Managing Director Robertson hopes supporters will be pleased with the progress as their cash from record season ticket sales goes into improving every area of Rangers.

Robertson told rangers.co.uk: “We all know how big a club this is but these ticket numbers just reinforce the depth of feeling so many people have for Rangers.

“Apart form making sure our facilities, Ibrox and the Hummel – a great deal of work, which costs lot of money, has been going on at both centres to maintain the standards our fans demand and deserve – remain the best, our job is to help the management team secure the players they want.

“We are doing that and we hope the team will be stronger and better when the new campaign starts. These are exciting times and it certainly feels as though things are moving into place.

“The fans deserve success and we must try to give them what they want. But I must express my thanks to them for the belief they continue to show in their club."
