Ian Black has revealed he has no respect for former Rangers boss Stuart McCall after being told he could "go home" before a crunch tie with Motherwell.

The ex-Hearts star was left out of the promotion push after McCall got the Ibrox job and recalled the explosive moment he lost all respect for the manager.

In the build-up to the Light Blues' play-off tie at Fir Park, Black was ready to put his kit on for the clash when he was pulled aside by McCall who told him he wouldn't feature.

And he flew off the handle at his former gaffer for deciding to announce he wouldn't be involved moments before he was set to get changed.

Speaking on Si Ferry's Open Goal, Black said: "He pulled me in the changing room, the game was on a Saturday and I was going on holiday the next morning from Manchester.

"He's came over and put the arm round me and went: 'I know you're going to be disappointed'.

"I've looked at him and he went: 'I'm not going to involve you today, I totally understand if you want to take your keys and go home'.

"I went: 'Are you f****** winding me up you c***?

'You brought me here to this game, you spoke to all the senior pros yesterday and told them they didn't need to come, and you dragged me here knowing that my missus and daughter are on a train to Manchester on their own.

"'And you've dragged me here and told me that two minutes before we need to get changed?'

"That was it. No respect for the guy, no respect whatsoever.

"He's never looked at the path I've walked again, never even came near me."
