Fans of fantasy football will have the chance to pick from players in the Scottish Premiership this season - thanks to the launch of a brand new league.

Fantasy Football Scotland will get underway this campaign where footie-daft Scots can slug it out among pals to pick the best starting XI from Scottish clubs.

With the English Premier League having an already established fan base of fantasy players from around the world, Scotland makes up a hefty number of players - a whopping 250,000 plus.

But a spokesperson for Scotland's own version has told of the creators' delight at being able to offer an alternative this year.

They said: "We're delighted to finally be able to release the game.

"We're a nation of football obsessives, but we've always had to look to other leagues for our fantasy football fix. 

"We're here to remedy that.

"It's been in development for a couple of years now, and we're excited to let fans have the chance to pick from their favourites."

A starting squad and four subs will be available for managers where captains can be picked to earn their squads double points.

Fans can also create their own leagues to play against mates.
