Manchester United's goalkeeper David De Gea has urged Hearts new boy Joel Pereira to show Scottish football what he's made of during his time on loan.

Pereira signed a season-long deal at Tynecastle earlier this afternoon.

The Portugal under-21s star joined up with teammates today and had Hearts supporters buzzing.

But it's not just the Jambos who are keeping an eye on the 'keeper as superstar De Gea proved earlier.

Taking to social media to wish his pal luck, the Spain and United No.1 said: "Enjoy the experience and prove how good you are bro!"

The tweet racked up thousands of likes and shares after it was posted.

Hearts even shared a tweet of their own showing Pereira pull off a tremendous save in training.

It is believed the stopper will challenge Zdeněk Zlámal for the first team jersey in Gorgie - and he could be available for Friday's Betfred Cup tie against Motherwell.

Pereira, 23, has made three top team appearances for the Red Devils.
