WE'RE now two games into the 2019/20 Scottish Premiership season and as usual, last weekend's fixtures have thrown up all sorts of talking points.

Celtic survived an early scare at Fir Park and left Motherwell as comfortable 5-2 winners, St Mirren pulled off the shock of the weekend with a 1-0 win over Aberdeen in Paisley and Rangers battered Hibernian 6-1 at Ibrox.

Of course, the weekend's results mean that our Manager Power Rankings need updating and there have been quite a few developments after the season's second round of fixtures. You can read about how it all works here.

Neil Lennon currently tops the charts with an overall score of +4. Celtic have been favourites to win both of their league fixtures so far this season and have gone on to do so, gaining the Northern Irishman two points. On both occasions, though, Celtic have won by at least three goals, meaning that Lennon picked up a bonus point in our rankings on each occasion.

Steven Gerrard picked up two points following his side's commanding 6-1 win over Hibernian; one for the win (as his side were the pre-macth favourites), and another bonus point for the scoreline.

Ross County co-managers Stuart Kettlewell and Steven Ferguson are tied with Gerrard in second place after the second round of games, after the newly-promoted club continued their good start to life in the Premiership. County travelled to Tynecastle and were expected to lose pre-match, but left the capital with a 0-0 draw and were unfortunate not to have left with all three points. The Highland club's management duo picked up a point for the unexpected draw, and are sitting on +3 overall.

Last weekend was a good one for Hamilton and St Mirren; both teams were expected to lose their home fixtures against Kilmarnock and Aberdeen respectively, and both grabbed their first league wins of the new season. Brian Rice and Jim Goodwin were awarded three points in our rankings each for the victories, while Angelo Alessio and Derek McInnes were docked the same amount.

St Johnstone hosted Livingston on Saturday afternoon and rallied after conceding two early goals to salvage a 2-2 draw at McDiarmid Park. The Saints were the bookies' favourites to win before kick-off, so Tommy Wright losses a point in our rankings while his Livi counterpart Gary Holt gained one for the draw.
