Ex-Rangers kid Billy Gilmour could be in line for a special appearance in the European Super Cup Final after he trained with the Chelsea first-team.
The former Gers youngster was handed two pre-season outings for Frank Lampard's starters against Bohemians and St Pats but this evening's Liverpool clash would be a significant step-up for the 18-year-old.
Gilmour could deputise after he squared-off in practice against big-hitters like Willian, Ross Barkley and Olivier Giroud.
Scotland under-21s star Gilmour has been endorsed by Chelsea hero Lampard who recently heaped praise on the creative midfielder.
On the club's trip to Ireland, Lampard said: "As a young lad, the personality [Billy] has shown on this trip to play two games at the level has has played them is great.
"I just hope he pushes on with that this season."
