Celtic star Olivier Ntcham was 'offered' to French giants Bordeaux who snubbed the deal for someone "more experienced", according to a report.

The Hoops midfielder has been in decent form for his club since having a sit-down chat with manager Neil Lennon over his future.

Showdown talks were needed after Ntcham hinted that he fancied a move away from Scotland with the likes of Marseille and FC Porto reportedly keen on his services.

Now, however, it is claimed by Goal journalist Robin Bairner that Celtic offered the wantaway Frenchman to Ligue 1's Les Girondins - but they knocked it back.

It comes a short time after Ntcham claimed he was too good for Scottish football and explained how he deserved a move to a bigger club.

The 23-year-old signed for Celtic from Man City for £4.5m back in 2017.
