Rangers ace Ross McCrorie played a full 90 minutes for Portsmouth at right-back in a 3-3 draw with Coventry yesterday.

The midfielder has been converted to a defender by Pompey boss Kenny Jackett despite an aspect of the deal being that McCrorie would be given game time in midfield.

The positional switch was forced upon the manager last week when he had no choice but to pitch the loanee in as a full-back when Andy Walkes went off.

Following the game, though, Jackett admitted he'd have no qualms in using McCrorie on the right again and so it proved.

The Ibrox kid played the full game as Portsmouth were held to a 3-3 draw by nine-man Coventry.

We told recently how Light Blues fans urged manager Steven Gerrard to recall the player as his time is being wasted playing out of position.

Gers farmed him out in a bid to get a better midfield player back next season.

Gerrard previously slaughtered his predecessor, Pedro Caixinha, for risking "scarring" the player by having him in his squad as a defender.
