Celtic star Kris Ajer should be fit for Thursday’s Europa League crunch tie with AIK after limping off against Hearts this afternoon.

The defender put in another standout shift for the Hoops in their 3-1 win over the Jambos at Parkhead.

Norwegian Ajer, 21, hobbled off with a little of the Premiership clash to go earlier today, sparking some initial fears that he may take some time to recover.

However boss Neil Lennon revealed at full-time that he expects the player to be available this week.

Lenny said: “Kris had a bit of cramp and a knee problem. “He also has a shoulder injury.

“Apart from that, he is okay! He should be fine.”

Ajer has been terrific for Celtic so far this season and filled in at right-back on a number of occasions when called upon.

He had another good showing as a Vakoun Bayo-inspired Hoops outfit won today - albeit own goals have been at the centre of discussions on the whistle.

Ajer’s natural position is at centre-half and he could return to the middle of Lennon’s defence for the Sweden return leg if Hatem Abd Elhamed is deemed fit enough to play.

Celtic hold a 2-0 lead from the first game in Glasgow last week.
