Lennon wants three more

Celtic boss Neil Lennon admits he’s hopeful of signing “two or three” players this week.

The manager watched his side beat Hearts 3-1 at Parkhead and was pleased with the performance.

However it hasn’t stopped him scouring the globe for players to strengthen his side and he hopes to have at least two new bodies in ahead of the club’s Sweden trip this week.

Speaking after the Hoops’ win yesterday, Lennon said: "We need players in two or three positions.

"That’s been ongoing for quite a while.

"Hopefully we can get some quality bodies in on Monday or Tuesday.

"If we do, I’d like to take them to Sweden with us to integrate them with the group if they have an opportunity to play next weekend."

The Light Blues have been linked with a move for the striker, with speculation constantly linking Alfredo Morelos away from Ibrox.

It is believed the Senegalese attacker is no longer first choice at the Ligue 1 outfit and that his club would be prepared to chat with Gers.

Stevie May be moving after all

Aberdeen striker Stevie May’s proposed switch to St Johnstone is back ON.

The Dons had been hoping to sell their player to get him off the wage bill but Saints were hopeful of a loan deal.

The move fell through as late on as last week but sources have exclusively told the Herald that it is back on and could happen before the September 2 transfer deadline.

Hearts kid heading ‘South’?

Harry Cochrane was spotted in the Queen of the South end as Allan Johnston’s side fell against Ayr on Saturday.

The young midfielder enjoyed a stunning introduction to the Hearts first-team last year and didn’t look out of place.

In fact, Craig Levein was full of praise for the 17-year-old for breaking into the lineup at such a young age.

Hearts this season, though, have a plethora of options in the centre - including Ireland international Glenn Whelan - so game time would be limited for Cochrane this term.

As Ayr beat the Doonhamers 1-0 at Somerset Park, Cochrane posed with fans in the away end - leading to speculation that he’s set to join the club on a potential loan deal.
