Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has been thanked by Plymouth manager Ryan Lowe for allowing Zak Rudden to head out on loan.

Rudden, 19, headed to Home Park last week to sign on the dotted line for the Pilgrims on a six-month loan deal.

The front man scored 13 times for Falkirk last season during a dismal season for the Bairns which saw them relegated to League One.

But Rudden was still a shining light for Ray McKinnon's men and attracted interest from Plymouth - who were desperate to land him.

And that's why boss Ryan Lowe was delighted to get his man and thanked Gerrard for sending Rudden his way.

Speaking to Plymouth Live, he said: “We are pleased with him. We are thankful to Rangers and Stevie for letting us have him.

“He could have went to a few other clubs.

“I spent half an hour with him in the hotel before the game and an hour after the [Salford] game.

“He was excited. It was a full house – packed to the rafters under the lights – and he said ‘I want a bit of it’.

“So we sent him home to get all his stuff and brought him straight back, and he’s here.”
