Arsenal ace Kieran Tierney has been handed a major boost as he continues his return from a hip injury - with the news that Nacho Monreal will be allowed to leave The Emirates.

Monreal has been the subject of interest from Real Sociedad in La Liga and it is understood Gunners boss Unai Emery will let him go.

Tierney, 22, joined the Londoners in a record-breaking £25million deal but has been ruled out until at least early October.

But the path to a starting berth at left-back has been paved for the former Celtic player with Monreal's imminent departure.

The Scottish Sun are reporting that Monreal has already been told he won't be offered a new contract as his current deal expires at the end of this season.
