Ryan Kent was left out of Liverpool's under-23s squad AGAIN last night as he continues to push for a move out of Anfield.

Transfer deadline day in Scotland is next Monday, which is fast approaching.

Rangers have been, and will no doubt continue to be, linked with the winger.

Boss Steven Gerrard has also made no secret of his desire to bring the 22-year-old back through the doors at Ibrox in a bid to help halt Celtic's league dominance and win the league.

Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has made it clear that he does not want Kent heading back out on loan again and instead would rather the player found a permanent club to "call his home".

But recently it emerged that Kent was ready to "down tools" in an attempt to force a move away.

He was left out of the Liverpool 23s last week when they lost 3-0 to Chelsea's kids and Neil Critchley again refused to pitch him in for his side's 4-2 win at Southampton.

One issue that will disappoint Rangers supporters is the apparent admission of defeat in his pursuit by Gerrard.

The former midfield superstar seemed to accept that Kent would not be moving to Glasgow again any time soon.

Though with the Scottish window closing soon and the English deadline already passed, Liverpool may be forced to change their minds if they want to get the Englishman off their wage bill.
