RANGERS are set to clinch the signing of winger Ryan Kent from Liverpool.
Boss Steven Gerrard had played down the prospect of Kent rejoining the Light Blues in recent days but the Reds have now agreed a deal worth around £7million.
Kent won the Young Player of the Year award last term and will return to Ibrox on a permanent basis as Gerrard sets his sights on the Premiership title.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp had previously outlined his plans to allow Kent to leave, but only on a permanent deal.
This forced Gerrard to accept defeat previously this summer.
However the former Liverpool captain has always admitted his desperation to bring Kent, 22, back to Ibrox.
Any move would certainly be a statement of intent from Gers.
Kent himself was also linked with a switch to Club Brugge earlier today, but it is understood the player is as hopeful to return to Glasgow as Gers and their fans are.
