Ex-Rangers star Kyle Lafferty has made the bold claim that Gers new boy Ryan Kent could be BETTER than Eden Hazard.

Kent rejoined the Ibrox side on a four-year deal yesterday after a drawn out summer saga full of will-he, won't-he.

Lafferty, 31, watched with delight at his former teammate penned a deal at Rangers.

And he recalled a conversation the pair had when Kent was in the midst of his YPOTY season at the Light Blues last term - where he told his pal he could be better than Europa League winner and Real Madrid superstar Hazard.

Speaking to the Daily Record, Lafferty said: "After one game last season I spoke to Ryan in the showers.

"People were raving about Eden Hazard and his ability to know what he’s going to do before the ball comes to him.

"I said to Kenty, ‘Mate, you could be as good as him, if not better.’

"He has everything in his locker. He could probably add a few more goals but the chances he creates and winning games is what he does.

"I’m excited already to see him play."

Lafferty counts Kent in the three best players he's played alongside.

And the Northern Irishman has starred beside a laundry list of top players including Abel Hernandez and Paulo Dybala.

But he's content to heap praise on the ex-Liverpool ace as he's convinced Kent has a massive future in the game.

Lafferty added: "Ryan’s in the top three of the best I’ve played with and I’ve had Dybala and Belotti as team-mates. I’m more than happy to say that as he provides something special.

"It’s about how he takes the ball, how he runs with it and I’ve seen him absolutely destroy defenders.

"He can do that even with three or four defenders around him."
