Peter Grant has urged Odsonne Edouard to snub a move to Monaco should the opportunity present itself - because Celtic are a bigger club than the Ligue 1 outfit.

Edouard was reportedly a target for Monaco this summer who were prepared to make the move happen.

One publication even suggested the player had agreed a deal before the window slammed shut.

Hoops legend Grant, though, believes the Frenchman should ignore any interest coming his way - because the two clubs aren't comparable in stature.

Chatting on the Ladbrokes Social Club, Grant said: "If you're wanting to go to Monaco, it's for the lifestyle obviously.

"It's not for playing, when you're talking about football clubs. There's no comparison.

"That's unfortunately the nature of the beast nowadays.

"I hope [Edouard] stays a lot longer, if you're playing for Celtic Football Club there's not a better place to play in terms of atmosphere and crowd when you're doing well."
