RYAN KENT is an excellent winger but he is only one man in the Rangers team and squad.

The board and Steven Gerrard have done seriously well to get a player who was so important last season and the manager, and the fans, are rightly delighted.

Not many people would have seen Rangers spending £7million on one signing. It was a major statement by the board and strong backing for the manager.

I enjoyed watching Kent last season. He had some storming games in Europe and against Celtic - the big occasions. He was the voted best young player in Scotland by his peers and deserved the award.

Rangers are without question a better team with the former Liverpool forward in their ranks. But he is only one man. A good player, sure, but not a saviour.

The supporters can’t, and I know they won't, expect Kent to do it on his own but he will want to showcase his talents now that he has got the move he has wanted all summer.

Rangers have a good run of games now and will be looking to build a bit of momentum again in the Premiership as well as starting positively in the Europa League.

I think you will see Kent make his second debut for Rangers when Livingston visit Ibrox this afternoon and this is a game that Steven knows is so important for his side.

Livingston were tipped by many to go down at the start of the season but they are only a point behind Rangers after four games and they are not going to be a push over.

But if Rangers are at it they should win this one and hopefully Kent's return isn't the only reason the fans have to celebrate at Ibrox.
