Paul Dalglish has offered one lucky supporter the opportunity to become his assistant manager at Miami FC for the day in a bid to raise funds for those who suffered through Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas.

The North American Soccer League club boss hopes to raise cash to help those affected by the storm which reportedly took the lives of up to 50 people.

More than 1,300 people from the area are also still missing as the Bahamas are braced for another storm.

Dalglish, son of Sir Kenny who starred for Celtic, posted a heartfelt plea on social media to anyone willing to put their hands in their pockets to help the survivors take their lives back.

And he offered a once-in-a-lifetime auction prize that would see a lucky Miami fan take the role of his assistant for a day - helping take training, help with half-time team talk and press conferences with the media.

Taking to social media, ex-Livingston and Hibs striker Dalglish said: "After seeing the devastation caused in the Bahamas I’ve been thinking how to help.

"For the opening game of our season I am going to auction the chance to be my assistant.

"This will include being on the field for practice the day before, being in the pre game presentation, being in the locker room pre-game, half-time and post game.

"Sitting on the bench during the game and attending the post game press conference."

The auction kicked off on September 12.
