Celtic-daft Peaky Blinders star Packy Lee has recalled the moment he met Hoops hero Virgil Van Dijk to give him a tour around the set - before taking in a Liverpool game with the Dutchman and his family.

Lee, who plays Johnny Dogs in the BBC drama, is a huge fan of both Celts and Liverpool and told of his delight at becoming pals with Van Dijk.

The defender was given a tour around the Peaky Blinders location by a starstruck Lee.

But the actor admitted on Soccer AM that he struggled to keep it together when told he'd be meeting his football idol.

He said: "The door knocks and I'm told 'Virgil's coming'.

"Then there he is. He says 'I used to play for Celtic'... I know you did!

"Let me give you my CV!

"He took me, the family and kids to a Spurs game, we met up with Virgil's family, beautiful wife and children.

"Had the best experience of our whole entire lives.

"He is at the top of his game."

Lee added: "He came on set and I had the joy of taking him around.

"It was weird because he's watching it and he's like 'I wanna be here but I don't want to watch it'. Then he's watching and saying he doesn't want to.

"He watched a bit but then he would've seen a couple of big spoilers so he decided to pull back."

Peaky Blinders series five has already begun and stars Cillian Murphy as Shelby family leader Tommy and Paul Anderson as unhinged brother Arthur.
