They say form is temporary, class is permanent.

In Mohamed Elyounoussi's case, though, there's been no form to go on.

Having signed for Celtic on loan from Southampton, the £16million star hadn't kicked a ball in anger since May of this year.

You wouldn't have known it, though, as it took less than two minutes for him to make an impact against Hamilton this afternoon.

Collecting a cross from the right-flank, the Norwegian international caught it flush on the half-volley as he sent a shot sailing towards goal - only for defender Sam Stubbs to get in the way.

A couple of minutes later he was celebrating the opener with teammates after picking out James Forrest with a tempting delivery that was tapped home.

A clinical cross, a clinical finish.

It showed, immediately, the type of quality Celtic have brought to Parkhead in Elyounoussi.

Playing on the left-wing to begin with, the playmaker was seemingly given the rein by Neil Lennon to move freely behind Odsonne Edouard and along the line, interchanging with Ryan Christie and James Forrest as he pleased.

Allowed to drift from left to right, back again.

His movement is methodical, like he knows exactly where he'll need to be if and when his teammates get hold of the ball.

On the ball, admittedly for some of the game, he did look slightly off-colour - but that'll be a lack of game time contributing to the sharpness that would usually come with regular outings.

Off the ball, though, the sharpness and quick-thinking hasn't deserted him.

This looks to be the exact type of movement that Celtic are needing.

Well, we say NEEDING, but Elyounoussi's teammates didn't exactly look sluggish themselves.

The fact that he was replaced by a returning Tom Rogic on 67 minutes will only be more of a plus-point for Celtic fans.

It looks like the Bhoys have found an attacking set-up that works and will surely help them create a barrel load of chances as the season goes on.
