SCOTTISH clubs Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen and Hibernian's reserve sides will be competing in a new cross-border competition alongside English duo Brentford and Huddersfield Town, according to reports in the the Scottish Sun.
All four Scottish clubs withdrew from the SPFL Reserve League over the summer and have been on the lookout for fixtures so that their players can develop.
The new league kicks off on Tuesday afternoon when Aberdeen host Huddersfield at Glebe Park, with Brentford then travelling to the same venue of September 29.

Rangers will face Brentford in December and Huddersfield in January, while Celtic and Hibernian have not yet released their fixture schedules.
Each club in the six-team league will play the remaining five teams home and away in a mini-league, with the two top-placed sides then meeting for a final at the end of the season.
Each team can field a maximum of three outfield players over the age of 21 in each fixture, while there are no age restrictions on the goalkeepers.
